Single women over 55 in the USA are at higher risk than any other demographic group to fall into poverty and homelessness. This statistic is one of the main reasons I wrote this book, being single, 60+, and financially vulnerable.

Nobody, not the government, not society or the economy, can force you to be a victim, to be submissive, to be lonely or unhappy.
It is not the government’s or society’s or the economy’s role to create your wellbeing, your happiness. It never was, it never will be.

If the responsibilities are yours so are the opportunities. Seize them and create the room to grow rather than to grow old.

You are the matron, the patriarch of your destiny, of your life, and of the quality in it.

This book is a compass for people who navigate midlife and retirement. In the appendices, you will find pages and pages of resources, reading materials, how-to books, and websites. I made sure to include jumping off points at the end of each chapter inviting you to engage in this demanding and interesting process.

Showing Up For The Golden Years: Resetting the Retirement Mindset challenges readers to look at the issues facing them, find or create solutions, and bring meaning to the later years in life. It is not a complaint or a paper Wailing Wall. It is an open door to an amazing future if we care to accept the invitation to participate.
